Every year our councils take the challenge to register eligible voters. We regularly organize voter registration campaigns to help empower our community through the vote and educate them on the process.
This year alone we have registered nearly 3,000 students throughout North Texas at local high schools and colleges. Our mission is to make it as simple as possible to get involved in our democratic process and to start a tradition of voting within the Hispanic community.
North Texas LULAC considers education to be a top priority. Every year we raise funds through grassroots efforts. One of the first scholarships we awarded was for $50. Now we are proud to award thousands of dollars every year to make education more accessible to students in need.
Our collegiate and high school councils regularly participate in leadership trainings around the United States. Members then return to their respective communities to train others and help build stronger neighborhoods. We believe that our youth need to start leading now and with the help of seasoned LULACers, we can start building that next generation of servant leaders.
The Mission of the League of United Latin American Citizens is to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health and civil rights of the Hispanic population of the United States.
